The human skull is made up of twenty-two bones in all. The skull unites in 18 months, so a baby’s skull would be completely joined over this period. The binding matter is nothing but fiber. These bones of the skull are held together by fiber. Skull is further known as cranium. The brain case itself is made up of eight bones and the face consists of fourteen bones.
Other than sinuses, four large holes of the skull are two holes for eyes, cranial of brain and naval for nose. Blood vessels travel via a hole to the brain. Fore Magnum is the biggest hole, which connects cranium with spine. The basic function of skull is to accommodate brain and protect it from outer shocks.
